3 Simple Ways to Worship Yourself
We all have days, weeks, seasons of life when we feel off kilter. Off Center. Drab. Flat. Even depressed or filled with anxiety. Or some combination of all of the above.
This state could be affected by actual seasons and weather, relationships, career, physical health, mental health…really so many things.
When I find myself in the midst of one of these flat periods, this is my question –
what will I do this day/week/minute to come back to Center and my Wild Nature?
I remind myself of Worship. What would it feel like to be Worshipped? What would it feel like to Worship myself? To treat myself with an adoring reverence? What would I create for myself? How would I move about my day?
The number ONE thing... get back to my rituals.
When I’m out of alignment with my rituals -- which happens, no judgment here -- I can feel it. When I feel it, I know it’s time to pause and revisit.
These are practices I return to again and again, especially when I’ve let some things slide around taking care of myself in ways that enliven and brighten life.
1. Stop and Breathe. Stop what you’re doing. Even if you feel relaxed, take time to fill your body with air using 3 deep breaths. Give yourself a quiet moment. Put your hands on your body and connect. Greet yourself. Remember this moment is the only thing that’s happening.
2. Move. I talk about moving a lot…movement is crucial to being an embodied woman and should be a daily practice. Along with daily exercise of some kind, free movement is a great way to get your blood flowing, even opening up even bigger vessels for pleasure. Turn on your favorite song, and move what you feel. Let yourself GO. It’s easy, it’s simple, it’s free and you can’t ever use the excuse you’re too busy.
3. Simple daily ritual, such as a hand massage. It’s an easy way to show yourself reverence and care. You can give yourself a hand massage sitting at your desk or in bed at night. Take care in the fragrance you select. Add a few drops of essential oil to your hand, and add unscented lotion or coconut oil. And for 5 beautiful minutes, massage your hands. Massage each finger and both wrists. Bring your hands to your face and deeply inhale the fragrance. This is a fail-safe ritual I use for an instant uplift.
A bonus consideration just to lighten and brighten your days: keeping fresh flowers in your environment. Especially where you work. Anywhere you are using “productive” energy, this will bring in more feminine flow energy. Also, flowers bring color, life, and honestly a powerful reminder of the temporary nature of all things. They remind me to stop, relax, take a breath and be grateful for Life.
Small gestures like this bring you back in touch with your life force energy and erotic nature.
They connect you . . . to You.
